City sails by in rear view mirror,
dried on our skin, we carried many an ocean tear.
Skyscrapers flicker with lights going on and off.
Nephew smiles and yawns,
niece’s excitement is not gone.
Seeing kids get new clothes makes me glad,
so much of the world is just tirelessly mad.
Driving down the road to the sound of soulful pop,
eyes alert for traffic and ready to stop.
Little girl take a shower and brush your teeth clean,
now, go to sleep near your stuffed bunny and floppy eared dog, you’ll lean.
Sail off to sleep,
with good memories, for you to always keep.

You have the best poems! Have you ever thought about creating a children’s poetry book? It would be absolutely amazing! The way you weave your real-life experiences as a father into such beautiful artistry is rare and truly special.💗 I would definitely love to read your poems to my kids one day💗
This is so warm and wholesome! A little adventure, a little shopping, and a whole lot of love. The perfect way to wrap up a day—sailing into sweet dreams! 😊✨
