I'm Just Not a Fan of Valentine's Day That Much
~

I’m just not a fan of Valentine’s Day,
because loving and being sweet should be our daily way.
Friendly love, romantic love, brotherly or sisterly love,
I’m all for it!
It should persist and provide security and lavish grace on all levels!
A shelf full of every shade of red heart and candies just feels overly cheapened and commercialized.
Valentine’s Day seems to overemphasize the romantic kind of love,
which saddens those who don’t currently experience that love form.
So, maybe we shouldn’t emphasize Valentine’s Day quite so much,
but lend our souls toward deeper daily love, with just the right touch!

Exactly! Love ain't meant for a day or so... A bar of chocolate or a rose? C'mon, we should do that more often than one day. Loved your poem 👏✨
So well said…I totally agree, but have never managed to verbalise it as well as you did!✅
Couldn't agree more!
Yess i agree wholeheartedly!!💯 (can you tell i am the one who doesn’t experience the romantic form of love lmao😭) anyways this is beautiful as always!💗
This is the perfect mix of thoughtful and lighthearted! You’re not against love—you just want it to be more than a one-day spectacle. And honestly? That last line is perfect! ✨
Love is unconditional. I enjoy love poems, and the love that comes with Valentine's Day, though I don't dedicate that day to just one person; it's a day for everyone who I love.
I agree100%. It emphasizes the lack of a partner for some of us and then makes it awkward for the people around us.
