Christmas Was Yours

The Legacy You Left Us

“Peace on earth will come to stay, when we live Christmas every day.” – Helen Steiner Rice

Christmas was yours

With the smell

Of Biscotti’s filling the

Air

And Spaghetti Sauce

Simmering on the stove.

~~~~~~
Christmas was yours
With Carols being played
On the Organ while
Lights glistened
On the tree.
~~~~~~

Christmas was yours

The greatest gift

Was always the faith

That brought you

To your knees

Before bed

Every night that

I remember

And family

Your greatest treasure.

~~~~~~
Christmas was yours
With that smile
Speaking more
Than a million words
Ever could.
~~~~~~~

Christmas was yours

The legacy you left

Us.
