Christmas Morning Once More
A poem about the holidays
Eyes bright
Staring at the swirling Christmas lights
Hoping Santa would come early
Were we always in such a hurry?
Jingle bell rocking jamming in the background
There was something magical about that sound
It put a kick in your step, and made you want to dance
Looking silly in our matching pajama pants
Going to bed on a sugar rush
Your parents telling you not to make a fuss
And you sneaking out at midnight to catch Santa claus
Crawling around like a cat on all my paws
I was never good at waiting patiently for to rip open those gifts
Always had to give those cookies a sniff
Heart filled with joy seeing those presents under the tree
The holidays made me feel so free
