Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

The husband and I were alone over the holiday.

We sat grinning, watching and waiting.

It was a good time eating goodies and creating.

Some may say pitiful,

but we wouldn't with all the many bountiful

blessings we have been given in our lifetime.

Mom used to say, your time is coming, going is my time!

Our children are in their time and that means living life.

We can sit back and enjoy with little to no strife.

Talking to them and looking at pictures will sometimes bring a tear!

One son turned 50 this year.

His family photos are better and greater

each year the family is growing

and the grandchildren are glowing

in the photos on Christmas day.

****

A daughter that lives done the road is in Kentucky today.

Her husband and four youngest children are there too this Monday.

They will be gone for a week and we are enjoying the photos

sent of their adventures. She promised photos of the ocean and toes

in the water.

We got a huge present from another daughter.

The best present of all, a treatment visit this year, oh me!

Then this year a daughter celebrated 8 years in recovery in Hawaii.

A son that turned 49 this year hosted a houseful and when we said we were home alone, he said the best Christmas ever?

****

We heard from a total of seven children. We were so pleased to never

have to deal with drama on the holidays as we may have growing up in our childhood.

Sometimes the drama was at home, the bar, or in the hood.

Then we spoke to his sister, and my three brothers,

all doing well. I am planning lunch with a couple of nieces, grands, and others.

I already met with two other nieces and sent a gift box to one and gift cards to another.

Then friends were on the radar and the secret Santa from work is over, oh brother.
