Choices Made

Decisive Deeds

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 5 months ago Updated 5 months ago 1 min read

Tween rattlesnakes and grains of sand

I count bad choices on one hand

Fell for the lies, sold second chances

in redirected happenstances

When troubles unforgettable

live in the hypotheticals

Creating scenes of spectacle

that others deem acceptable

Rebuilding kingdoms after the fall

forgiving faults both big and small

Choosing to stay or find paradise

while heaven’s gates are open wide

Another one for gem pot, Kellie. I found it haunting, but maybe that was because the image was good, but scary. It definitely sets the scene.

There is a beautiful sense of indecision here... that feeling of perhaps beiing on the cusp of making a positive decision but feeling uncertain because of bad choices in the past! stunning piece and love the image choice, Kelli!
