Children Should Be Taught Manners

Children should be taught manners.

It is not good to hear a child swear.

A soft word is better than sharp words,

A kind voice grows into kindness.

Why do some parents think it funny

When a child speaks rough?

They laugh, but they plant bad seeds.

They do not see what grows after.

A home should teach care, not anger,

Patience, not noise.

Love that calms small quarrels,

Warmth that shapes gentle hands.

If children are shown gentleness early,

Their words will soothe, not cut.

Their steps will be lighter,

Their eyes will not carry cruelty.

Manners are not chains.

They are gifts.

They open kindness in others,

They make strangers into friends.
