When shadows slink in the darkness, and whispers of terror interrupt your slumber,

A power, merciless and bleak, follows your fantasies with a terrible whim.

Through convoluted trees of ideas where every stride reveals a fear unharmed,

Like a storm, wild, the echoes of dreams cut across the darkness.

You run from the horror, a frantic action with beating heart and accelerating feet.

But the spectre behind comes right next.

an unrelenting hunt without rest or break.

You run but cannot escape the uncertainty as you negotiate twisting lanes of doubt and fear.

Since the hold of the dream is strong and exact,

a black man lurking in the middle of night.

Still, within the anarchy, a flash shows up,

A lighthouse of hope to help you relax.

Because strength to rise and empower resides in the depths of the worst hour.

Courage just acquired, you turn to confront the dream seeking in this terrible location.

No more a victim; now a fighter courageous, to release the clutch and negotiate the darkness.

And so you maintain your ground with will, no longer pursued but the chaser discovered.

For you will discover the ability to recover your light deep inside the deepest darkness.
