Caught In The Middle
Yeah

I'm a little over middle aged,
somewhere under middle class.
I wear my weight around my middle,
and sag a little, near my ass.
I somehow thought it would be different.
that I'd wake up, still full of sass.
but that ship has sunk and serves as home,
for turtles, frogs, and bass
*
I'm caught in the middle.
*
I struggle to get up each day,
and drag myself to work.
To pay for things I have to have,
Cause I know what I am worth!
The bills show up regularly.
in the middle of the week.
I stop in the middle of the road,
to read the sum, and weep.
*
Just a little caught in the middle

This was fun to read. And since recently reaching a certain milestone age myself, I can relate with feeling in the middle of so much.
Very well written.

Bahaha. Love this. Well done, girl.
Nice work Kelli... I enjoyed reading about you a little lower than middle class life. I live in that neighborhood also.
