Caught In A Riptide

All I can do is to keep a float

Caught In A Riptide

Caught in a riptide, I can’t swim away,

your touch pulls harder than reason allows.

Every step closer feels reckless and right,

like the sea learning my name.

Your eyes do not ask permission,

they take, slowly, with intent.

I feel myself loosening inside them,

every promise slipping its grip.

My body remembers before my mind does,

the way heat answers heat.

I stop pretending I want the shore,

when the tide already owns me.

You move like a current along my skin,

steady, patient, impossible to fight.

Resistance turns useless in your hands,

desire doing what it does best.

Caught in a riptide, breath coming short,

salt on my lips, your mouth so close.

If I go under, I go willingly,

wrapped in the pull of you.

There is no rescue coming tonight,

no safe water to return to.

Only this surrender, sweet and slow,

only you, and the sea.
