Not everyday you see a cat at the beach
Let alone three, four, five, and six.
The scruffy below the car looks like
One my late nana used to have.
Can’t tell if they’re wild or not
No collars, but they look healthy
There’s plenty of salty puddles to drink from
And cat food scattered on the road.
The streets by the coast are bustling
With restaurants and markets and quirky houses.
Even busy tourists stop to give them fuss.
I spotted one outside the bakery.
And another one strolling into the shopping mall.
Two sit by the pub and wait for their free lunch.
There’s many more lurking in the city corners.
