Carolina Strong

Not just a sun shower, we faced a gun tower. It rained with gunpowder in the form of a hurricane.

Destructive works of rain touched down making land fall in a burst of pain. Bringing the worst of pain.

The storm twisted the city and it flooded the streets. Leaving trees and mud in the streets.

Unfortunately it was carried by human blood in the streets. Now there’s only one way in and almost no way out.

If you venture beyond the city limits you’d better stay out.

Help will be here soon, but will it have a pay out? One that will save the refugees.

What’s left to see other than the mess you see? We have to come together.

We have to help everyone together. Doing what needs to be done together.

It’s up to us to pick up the pieces from the storm. The survivors need peace from the storm.

As for the deceased, we will mourn for the lives lost. Mother Nature made them pay a high cost.

Let us pray and let us lift them up. We’re gonna use all of our strength to pick them up.

Survivors wrote grief letters. They will all need effort. We’ll do what we can to help with the relief effort.

We’ll be guiding them home. If the cane washed the houses away then we will start finding them homes.

We will send food, first aid and an army of people with welcoming spirits extending arms to the people.

Helene thought she beat Carolina? Wrong. We’re getting back up because we’re Carolina strong.

Our hearts beat as one. This is a test we will all defeat as one. Rising to our feet as one.

Our belongings may be breakable, but our spirits are unshakable. I believe and declare that we will make it through.

The road to recovery is one that is tough and long, but we will make it through because we are Carolina strong.
