Slowly drifting off to sleep and my thoughts turn to you.
Wondering if you’re happy. Hoping you’re safe.
A smile on my lips as I think of what could be. Ideas painting pictures in my head of happy moments to be had.
But as quickly as the smile appears, my heart turns sad.
It’s easy to escape to what could be in one’s mind. However brief, it makes you blind.
For someone who loves with her whole heart, she often finds herself falling apart.
Living a life that is dedicated to others may fill her cup. Yet finding herself alone has her asking “why?” As she looks up.
There’s this song you sent to her that she once played on repeat but now avoids.
The littlest things once again cause her mind to wander. On a path to you she will meander.
In her gut she knows the truth. As time goes by she’s like Lucy alone in her booth.
Offering help to anyone else.
Yet it’s her bruised heart and neglected self that truly needs aide.
Call the proper authorities, immediately this girl is about to fade.
