Some readers may quickly guess the meaning of this haikuesque conundrum. If you do, please feel free to let me know that you have, in comments, but without giving the game away. If you can't guess, please put it down to my obscure frame of reference.
Interpretation: Old Pond
I am no expert, but I understand the haiku form to be a way of expressing some of the mysteries of life and the natural world. The 17-syllable format is only a small part of that. Haiku present conundrums that may be unresolvable, like why the blossom of the cherry tree is so beautiful. The form embraces reflection but not action. I may of course have misunderstood this (being a wimpy poet) so am happy to be corrected.

Yea I got nothing although I read it 3 times 😅😅
What an awesome haiku. Like some of my pieces (A Gathering comes to mind), there may be multiple interpretations for many although I know you had one precise one in mind when this was written. Maybe something akin to your mind or imagination caged within your physical being. Once you write something, however, that bit of your imaginative creation is released to the world. Or either, perhaps when you die.....all is released.
Isn't living our lives in a cage as well as living in our own minds and always thinking how and what needs to be done. Great work.
Deep message with just a few words.
