Buy one get one free

Obesity is the price for these offers we have to pay

Buy One, Get One Free

A deal too sweet, a tempting plea,

Filling baskets, hearts with glee,

But what it feeds is more than me.

The shelves are stacked, the offers bold,

In bags and carts, the stories told,

Yet the price we pay, we can’t behold—

It’s not just money, but health sold.

Each extra bite, each bonus treat,

A moment’s pleasure, a fleeting feat,

But every step, the scale’s deceit—

Lays heavy where the heart does beat.

For what is free, when it’s too much?

A simple act, a careless touch.

The hunger grows, the waistline’s clutch,

A silent toll—can’t feel it, such.

So think before that tempting offer,

Does it nourish or make you suffer?

The price of excess grows ever tougher,

A bargain’s cost, one can’t recover.

The manufacturers and shops sell with glee,

They know we can’t resist the extra free,

Even when it causes death and struggle,

From obesity’s grip, we are left to juggle.

The NHS, overworked, cannot cope,

Buy One, Get One Free”

crushes tender recovery

As obesity takes away all hope to cope
