Burn

The fire died.

Remnants of the past

died with it.

Do I miss the images?

The anger you caused?

The pain that you dealt?

Am I sorry for flames?

Sorry for the gasoline?

Sorry for the match?

Did the fire die

because of me?

Why should it?

I started the fire and it died.

Remnants of the past died with it.

Be Still

She was blue.

Breath was the thing that we wanted but it never showed.

The chest cavity was fully developed

without ever having the chance to function like

those that surrounded her (Breathe). The line of consciousness

and unconsciousness was blurred due to the lack of never having lived

on this planet, but the line motioned towards the unfavorable outcome

that we all knew was present in her body (Breathe).

A cold stone emerged from a place of warmth

and life (Still).
