I once had wings, oh so strong and true
I soared through the skies, with grace and ease
But now they're broken, tattered and torn
I plummet to the ground, brought to my knees
The pain is real, the sadness overwhelming
My heart heavy with the weight of my loss
But in my brokenness, there's a glimmer of hope
A chance to rise again, to pay the cost
I pick up the pieces, one by one
And slowly, surely, I mend what's been undone
My wings grow stronger, with each passing day
And I find redemption in a different way
For now I know the value of what's been lost
And I'll cherish it more, at any cost
So I spread my mended wings, and take to the sky
With a renewed spirit, I fly, I fly.
