It is they who recognize when another wishes to cry

When the attempt to hide sadness and trauma fail

Love does prevail over all things, but alas

One must be open to the reception of a love that sees beyond flesh

//

How long have you kept your secrets hidden from others?

While time smothers your chest with pains that you prefer not to let anyone see?

Though not obligatory, I adore your strength in keeping a poker face

While many faces look into your direction for signs they typically cannot read

But may I suggest you find one wo can be your comfortable space?

For your tattered heart needs to breathe

Your mind must soon find its release

//

The bodies who've suffered violent scars are great at listening

They have been stricken with blows that in some cases should have killed them

Yet they're filled with laughter, joy, and an eagerness to push beyond limits

For what is seen as disaster, they've chosen to plastered a memory of it against the wall

There is no falling and staying down with them

They simply lift themselves and others

Anyone struck down would be blessed to call those people friend

The battered ones who most people call, broken

inspirational
