This red cycle ends
yet Spring blooms a forest's crown
unless wildfire comes

Wildfires break my heart. What an excellent haiku!
“Spring blooms a forest's crown” - I love that line and image, Matthew.
A sad take on the prompt, but this haiku so accurately reflects what so many have endured. Well done.
Great Haiku, Matt
Beautiful haiku and fascinating connection with & read about wildfire.
As a Californian, I especially appreciate "unless wildfire comes". It also complements the first line very well--"This red cycle ends"--showing that it does not truly end; it only transforms into a different kind of red, if wildfires come. Well done.
Well-wrought!
Reminds me of my haiku about the ISS that concludes with "Until it comes down" (because it will in 2030). But, you know, yours with a classier and more literary feel, because your writing is in comparison.
"spring blooms a forest crown" is one of the best descriptions I've read in quite a while Matthew!
Oh, this is dramatic in just three lines. Well done, buddy!
