boys get sad too

it was a lie i told myself

i never saw him cry before

that made him the strong one

but maybe that's what made him strong

unapologetically

unashamed

of the tears drenching his hands

overflowing onto the floor

and how his body shook

from the earthquake of grief

rolling through his soul

when i held on to him

it shook me to my core

how wrong i was

so we held each other

uniting our tears

until they pooled around our bodies

becoming something we shared

a moment

as well as the truth

Beautifully told. Thanks for sharing it. Do I cry? Not really but then again I am a product of my upbringing.

It's a shame so many boys are taught that men don't cry
