Boats Out on the Water on a Beautiful Sunny Day
Poetry in motion

** A progressive poem, with each verse having an additional line culminating in a quintain stanza. The last line of the preceding stanza rhymes with the last line of the next verse, to reflect poetry in motion.
Boats out on the water on this beautiful sunny day.
Scurrying across the blue waters,
Like adventurous ants at play.
Boats out on the water, each with a different plan,
For some, it's just a look-and-see,
Sitting there and bobbing until the end of the day.
Big and small, I see them all,
Such a spectacle to see,
The sun is high, the water blue,
They are spread out right across the bay.
I am jealous as I look out there,
On this multi-cored painting on a backdrop of blue,
The pastel dots in motion,
Rocked by a gentle wave or two,
To be out on the water, I must find a way.

Till next time, thanks for reading my poem,
