Is There Hope?
A terza rima poem dreaming of a better world
A terza rima poem is an Italian form of poetry that consists of tercets that follow a chain rhyme in which the second line of each stanza rhymes with the first and last line of the subsequent stanza. It ends with a couplet rhyming with the middle line of the penultimate stanza. The pattern is ABA BCB CDC DED EE.

A pot of gold, euphoric hope,
That one day, we might see,
A world of peace for all folk.
***
A hope and prayer that we could be,
In a world where we all live in harmony,
A life where love and speech are free.

A world based on equality,
Of which all people could be proud,
A world devoid of prejudice and animosity.
***
Hatred and violence would not be allowed,
A place where people do not live in fear,
Respect and love were cried out loud.
***
Perhaps if we were all sincere,
That pot of gold might just appear.
