Blue Skies

Long may they last

Rejoice! For the skies are now blue

gone is the overwhelming gloom,

the stormy grey,

ousted by the cerulean sky.

-

Now the sky is blue

my troubles seem faded,

lifted, the world seems lighter

life has taken on a brighter hue.

-

Yes what was bothersome before

seems like a trivial pursuit,

gone with the clouds

are the troubles of yesterday.

-

Yet when the blue skies

are long, set, here to stay,

the troubles have a way

of creeping back to the fore.

-

So it seems,

the skies don't seem so blue

without the grey, dreary,

cloudy days.
