Blue Days

Some days just feel blue.

It’s like you’re stuck on sticky glue,

While thunderstorms fill up the sky

And tiny clouds begin to cry.

An angry frown, a rotten peach.

When all the stars feel out of reach.

When summer slowly starts to end,

Like saying goodbye to a friend.

Or maybe when you woke in bed,

All kinds of worries filled your head.

And they won’t go away!

Well, that would ruin the most yellow day.

So take a breath and close your eyes,

Imagine floating through the skies.

Past Earth and Jupiter and Mars,

And cartwheeling across the stars.

You could sing your favourite song,

And make a dance to go along.

Or paint a picture for your wall,

Of endless skies and waterfalls.

A little touch of blue just might

Make all the colours shine more bright.

Just as the darkest navy storms,

Make the sunlight feel more warm.

You’ll feel a lighter shade of blue,

Or any colour that you choose.

Like berry red or forest green,

Bright orange like a tangerine.

So write a list and keep it close,

Of things that make you smile the most.

And you can read it any day,

Until the blues have blown away.
