Blood Stained the Hands I Trusted

silence screamed louder than the lies

Blood Stained the Hands I Trusted

I gave you
More than words
More than promises
I gave my soul

But you
Held knives
Behind smiles
And empty eyes

The blood
Wasn’t mine
But it stained
My hands anyway

You whispered truths
Wrapped in lies
And I
Believed
Every damn word

But trust
Is fragile
Like glass
And you
Broke it

Not with force
But with silence
With cold
And absence

I searched
For reasons
In the wreckage
Of what we were

But some betrayals
Don’t need answers
They just need
To be felt
And remembered

Now
I carry wounds
Invisible
But burning
Like fire beneath skin

Because blood
Doesn’t only come
From pain done by strangers
Sometimes
It’s spilled
By those
You called
Family

heartbreak
