War Inside

Battles rage in silence, but the scars speak loud

The war
Is quiet
But it shouts
In every breath

No guns
No armies
Just thoughts
Like grenades
Exploding
In my mind

I fight shadows
That wear my face
And scream lies
I almost believed

Sleep
Is the frontline
Where nightmares
Charge without warning

I wake
With scars
Invisible
But heavy

Every step
Feels like a march
Through fields
Of broken hopes

I carry weapons
No one sees
Memories
That bleed
When touched

They say
“Be strong”
But strength
Is a battlefield
With no ceasefire

Sometimes
I want to surrender
But my soul
Won’t let me

Because even war
Has moments
Of hope
That tell you
You’re still alive
