Blindly

A poem

Nothing—

I see in your eyes.

*

I see in your eyes

refracted light

careening birds

tumbleweed somersaults

of other children.

*

Next to me—

Sighing.

*

Sighing

hush of life

small hand in mine

eyes closed,

afraid.

*

I reach out—

Touch seasons passing.

*

Touch seasons passing

blindly

pausing

on the precipice

of change.
