Black lives
They try to destroy with words, guns and knives
Diluting the cause
Consistently putting us on pause
They preach ‘all lives matter’
And of those words they disregard the latter
Because if ours was to be valued
Then maybe our points would actually be viewed
A conscious attempt to dismiss our feelings
Not realising it’s their ignorance they’re revealing
But what can we do to solve this problem?
Some seem to believe equality will stop them
Stop the rage, pain and resentment we feel in our heart
But the truth is the majority want us to remain apart
Our passion, love and intelligence must now combine
2020 has been horrific it must be a sign
That we come together and empower, fund and love each other
Instead of segregation, insulting and harming one another
We were born gifted
Our ignorance has now been lifted
This is our time to unite
And stand up for what is right
Our words and actions must now more than ever be concordant
Because, if you didn’t know by now, our black lives are important
