After you broke me, I sent a letter, a poem—

After you broke me, I sent a letter, a poem—

Screaming sadness, exposing my soul.

Screaming sadness, exposing my soul.

After exposing my soul, you broke me.

Screaming, I sent a letter, a poem, sadness.

Months later you found your way back,

Months later you found your way back,

Said you missed me, and we began again

Said you missed me, and we began again.

Months later you said you missed me,

Found your way back, and we began again.

One night, you reluctantly confessed,

One night you reluctantly confessed,

My sorrow was a joke with your friends.

My sorrow was a joke with your friends.

You reluctantly confessed with a night joke.

My one sorrow was your friends.

Suddenly, I understood why you reintroduced me slowly,

Suddenly, I understood why you reintroduced me slowly,

Despite you claiming you were all in.

Despite you claiming you were all in.

Despite claiming you were all in, I suddenly understood.

Slowly, you reintroduced me. WHY?

Now I sit with you, and those friends,

Now I sit with you and those friends,

Knowing if we end, my name will be a punchline.

Knowing if we end, my name will be a punchline.

Knowing those friends sit with you now,

My name and I will be a punchline if we end.

My soul confessed a poem, sent a letter, and reintroduced me with you.

After knowing you and those friends, I understood why you said you missed me.

Months later, my sadness found me again with you. I broke, was suddenly screaming sorrow.

Despite your claiming all in, you were reluctantly, slowly, exposing night.

Now we sit way back. Your friends, you began a joke–one, my name!

If we end, I will be a punchline.
