While tying my favorite tennis shoes this morning …
I noticed that I am surrounded by black and white by the world I live in:
My favorite tennis shoes
My power cord to charge my iPod
My computer
My monitor
My keyboard
My wireless speaker
My television remote control
My Fitbit
My lip balm
My toothpaste
My coffee pot
My to go mug
My toaster
My egg timer
My refrigerator
My stove
My make-up brushes
Most of the clothes that hang in my closet are black and white
My favorite song by Niall Horan is even called Black & White
I live in a world where I am surrounded by black and white and using black and white items in almost every facet of my being
Why can’t we all live in harmony with it?
I can’t wrap my head around it
I will never be able to understand the layers of racism.
More importantly, why in 2021 it is still in existence?
Do yourself a favor
Let go of the hate
Love your neighbor
Reach far beyond the color of someone’s skin

After the Storm
After the storm of winter snow there sat a small bear by the name Ted, of course. He loves the snow and likes to roll around in it making all sorts of trails and whatever he has a mind to do. He wondered where all the people are, but in a way, he is hoping that they are all snug in the homes maybe drinking hot chocolate-one of his favorite drinks with mini-marshmallows and eating something homemade for he likes this winter wonderland all to himself to romp and play and maybe even catch some fish down by the river.
