Five years ago, we let you go
Into that realm of lesser understanding
The pain is less, but the emptiness
Is as real as the shadows that we stand in
Life took a turn in directions, I never planned to go
How to mend this brokenness,
no-body seems know
It’s like-yesterday - we were laughing
Talking - making new plans for tomorrow
Now, I’m all alone and am walking
Down an unfamiliar path, filled with sorrow
I never imagined, how my whole life would change
Living here, in a world without you
I’m lost in the hues of yesteryear
living life in bitter shades of blue
