The day I took flight, they cheered.

"Look how incredible!"

I liked the sound of the applause,

so I kept flying,

let them see how I am thriving.

For years I flew,

saw a world unseen by many

while I grew weary,

in pain for flying too long

in stories that I don't belong.

"Stop! Stop!" now they say,

"before it kills you."

They don't understand

that I have no clue how to land.
