Big Blues, Bigger God

Satan tried to get me down today,

but that is nothing new.

He tried the same thing yesterday

and the day before that too.

And because he’s so consistent,

in bringing about the blue,

I know he’ll try tomorrow

and with fervor he’ll pursue.

But I won’t let these notions get to me

Because I’m made of what’s brand-new

For Jesus is my number one

And I know he’s told me true.

So here’s what I’ll be doing

when Satan tempts me with his ruse

when he tries to get the best of me

like I know he’ll always do

I’ll say, “step off, step away!

I’m not giving you your due!

I’m not caving to your lies!

My God’s much bigger than you!”
