Between the End and the Applause
An Acrostic Poem

Slowly hook the microphone back on the stand, eons of quiet
In a brief moment with head bowed
Looking neither left nor right
Entering an internal state of completion, a silent intake of breath
Not holding any thought other than it is finished
Concentrating on the span of time before applause
Erupts.
