Waves crash before me
The gleaming sun shines down
Smooth, beautiful sand between my toes
The perfect paradise
Lying flat on the ground
Relishing in the warmth
Fingers digging through the grains
The soft and silky sand flows freely
This feeling-
The way the sand warms my entire being
Enveloping me like a soft blanket
This feeling-
A bittersweet reminder
While I hold on to dear life
In a white bed
Surrounded by white walls
I have a promise to keep
Fight with everything I have
So I can see the ocean
And breathe in the salty air
And make sandcastles again
Until then-
I will keep dreaming
Wishing to feel the smooth sand between my toes
