Being Your Own Muse
It's easy to fall in love with others and things: a musing on self love.
By Rowan WilliamsPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

It's easy to fall in love with a stranger on a park bench,
Or with the first sip of coffee in the morning.
It's easy to fall in love with the smell of Christmas,
And the ones who ask you about your day.
It's easy to love a hug, a kiss, and sunbeams on your face,
It's easy to love your favourite songs, favourite foods, and favourite place.
Yet it's so hard to love your own laugh,
Or the curve of your own face.
It's hard to fall in love with your lumpy bumpy body,
And the way that it moves.
It's easy to love everything as long as it's not you.
Think about how easy it is for others,
To love you with your flaws,
Take a leaf out of their book,
And make their love for you, yours.
