Beautiful Man

For his duties and manners

By Seema PatelPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

My spouse is bald,

without hair on top.

He may not look handsome

to average people,

but to me, he is beautiful -

let me tell you why.

Unlike some,

he does not talk

to an ex-girlfriend

because she is unhappy.

that would be cheating.

He does not go out

with his male friends

to Las Vegas to drink,

leaving me alone with kids.

When the baby needs

a sudden diaper change,

he does not call me -

he does it himself.

If I need,

my phone case changed,

or my laptop mouse fixed,

he makes sure

it's done within ten minutes.

He gives medicines to the kids,

 puts balm on their foreheads,

makes ginger egg soup.

He is so beautiful,

in his actions, and manners.

If you cannot see beauty

beyond muscles, hair, or face,

then you have not

done your life philosophy well.

Since I don’t want to impress,

but seek peace,

I don’t desire handsome man—

I go for a beautiful man.

How wonderfully you wrote this ode to your husband. Marriage and family is a partnership that both parties are constantly working. Good job.
