Beach Land!
(i hate this but i did write it on vacation and feel silly deleting it so oh well)

shining, smiling beach land
a nostalgic, grandiose sight of life
shimmering waves under a scorching sun
white foam hissing against bare skim
a peaceful, pretty paradise
of hot sand and cool, gusting winds
the call of seagulls, sweeping low
hungry for anything they might find
wide-brimmed hats and bikini bottoms
opened books and blistering sunburns
and the clay-like mold of cold wet sand
encased around your feet

I liked the ending- the line feels like an end, but not in abrupt way. "white foam hissing against bare skim"- such an interesting way to describe the waves Angela! Full of imagery, this one😊
Wonderfully expressed poem about the beach. Excellently written.
Beautifully-written! This piece makes me want to head to the beach! Nicely done! 🏖️
This feels like a Slim Aarons piece - specifically "Palm Beach Idyll" - all nostalgia and beauty
Oh brill Angela - felt like I was actually on the beach there for a minute (which is pretty amazing considering I'm in the landlocked midwest! Well done. This was lovely.
No vacation for me this summer, so thanks for the vicarious opportunity to experience one!
Woman, like why do you even hate this? I freaking loved it! It felt very nostalgic
everything about this is soothing...except the blistering sunburns! ouch!
I love the beach and I love this! I dream of open books and blistering sunburns... well mainly the open books lol!
You brought the vibe of vacation with you in this poem! Thank you for sharing. Don't hate it; it's so lovely and refreshing. ♥️ Though not the seagulls! Piss off, seagulls! 😂
I feel this, like returning to being a kid.
