Bare Footed We Walk on the Beach

Love is strong like the sea like the wind we are love

Bare Footed We Walk on the Beach

Barefoot we walk in the sand

waves whisper around our ankles

your hand brushing mine

the sky heavy with clouds

mountains waiting in the distance

The tide reaches for our feet

then pulls away like it can’t decide

we walk slow, side by side

the wind tangling your hair

the salt on our skin

a quiet promise

Nothing to say

everything to feel

the world wide and waiting

beneath us only sand

beneath us only us

Your laughter drifts on the breeze

mixing with the ocean’s song

I lean close, and you lean closer

time stretches soft between us

Fingers trace circles on bare arms

hearts beating in gentle rhythm

no need for words, no need for plans

just the tide, the wind, and us

Eyes meet in a secret smile

shadows play across our faces

the world feels smaller here

as if it waits for only our footsteps
