Banks Of The Nile
A Sonnet Inspired By Ancient Egypt

Introduction
This is inspired by my Muse's love of mythology and history, especially around the Mediterranean, and Egypt was a major player in ancient times.
This is not historically or geographically accurate, just the impression that I get from ancient Egypt.
Although the song is about the Napoleonic Wars, the title for this sonnet fits, and it is beautifully sung by the sadly missed Sandy Denny and Fotheringay.
