A very deep and thought -provoking piece, Belle!
As a father of two (soon to be three) adult children, this resonates with me. It's so hard to find the fine line between keeping them safe and preparing them for the real world. One of the hardest things for a parent.
Worst, we may sometimes mistake falling for flying when we don't yet have a sense of direction! Well-wrought!
This is the greatest mistake many parents do. Loved your poem!
