a poem for my baby, my senses, my appreciation

I kiss the round cheeks, the softest touch this sense can feel.

I smell the sweetest of scents, from wispy little hairs, from the little round head.

I hear the cries, the giggles, the gurgles, the tiniest of voices so potent to my ears.

I see the brightest of eyes peering up at mine, the most beautiful sight my eyes can see.

I taste the salty tears, from my eyes of happiness and awe.

I feel crippling anxiety, with astounding bouts of hope for what is yet to come.

This incredible journey has been given to us.

I will hold on to my senses everyday.

I touch, I smell, I hear, I see

You, my baby.
