Aurum Diem

Symphony in Gold

By Piper BinkleyPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Awaken, yellow pierce through blinds

Peek between the slats

Westward sing the golden climes

Clouds above the prairie flats

Macrophage ink blooms in my skin

My pupils reflect

Opulent existence in

Awareness of beauty kept

Blooming droplets of hazel stars

Lie upon the ground

Open eyes behold la mar

In sepia waves I drowned

An echo of infinity

Beauty self-diffused

A breath of divinity

I, lucky witness, choose

Through panes of glass comes dusty gold

Beaming, straining light

Flaxen vapors capture, hold

To daydreams as the sun takes flight

Childlike wonder, my possession

So rare now is awe

Innocence lost to progression

Bleeding barren, a solemn law

To shining day, the night submits

Beneath yellow skies

What sweet honeyed daybreak sits

Upon mountain ridges wise

I cling to hope and scintillance

Seek my treasure there

Souls unfold significance

Beauty herself is laid bare

Bright sunshine keeps the dreams at bay

Once darkness is spent

Yellow radiates the day

Waking life streams aurulent
