Atmosphere

a poem by Kyrin Sturdivant

By Kyrin SturdivantPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

born then,

my eyes

awash in your tides of cool

and warm hues.

transported.

placed snug on the foot of a broad waterfall

fit to alleviate

the aching heels

of gods on mount olympus.

spectacle me,

releasing my mind's grasp

of control over my body's

surrender

to the unswerving dominion

your natural laws ring before me,

enabling your grandeur to

swaddle me up in its arms,

wrapt in the soft shorn coat of alpaca.

weightless and bare

its waning gibbous gaze,

reflecting on this kaleidoscopic image.

pink,

purple,

blue,

and I, soaring in the midst of it,

diving down to feel the dense cold air

beneath my wings,

panning through my plummage,

the gold of the horizon,

as I continue my descent.
