A glimpse,

A race,

A chasing of eyes.

Hearts pounding,

Pupils darting,

Such a beautiful surprise.

Some say that before you die,

Your life flashes before your eyes,

But you just proved them wrong.

I saw everything from the past,

Separate and yet, so perfectly lined,

Even fate could not have written this song.

Then I saw the, "you and me",

In a house with a big ugly tree,

And we were watching our kids play at the park.

Then the lull from the chime,

Of the clock stealing time,

Getting older, but still making sparks.

And I could've died content,

In that blink of an eye,

But to have done so would've been quite a shame.

Having lived through that life,

In all of its beauty and strife,

Without ever having gotten your name.
