As I’m slowly getting older
I am the shadow of the man I used to be,
My bones are getting weary
And I’ve got a problem with my knee.
My mind it struggles to focus,
Is it the weather or just me,
But the winter’s getting colder,
And the summer’s too hot for me..
Not so long ago, my life was different then
I don’t understand what’s happening to me,
Once there were countless friends
And now, well it is just me.
That, my friend, is how life is
It’s time to accept reality,
Life is short, you can’t go back,
In time, you will come to see.
No matter what you do, time simply moves on,
And one day you will be old, just like me.
Till next time,
Calvin

Our bodies do age, but our spirits shine bright! Your beautiful words prove that point!
The alternative always comes back to me! I'm not ready to be dead as I have so much more life to live and I'm guessing so do you, Calvin!!❤️
Loved this, and ain't it fun getting older? Always have to be up for the challenge,

I go with Richard Osman's take on ageing, and I have said this many times, we can't stop our bodies ageing but we can look after them and the mind we can be what age we want.the video is in the story https://shopping-feedback.today/fiction/to-never-grow-old%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
Yes, time keeps moving forward and we all become old. It's sad but inevitable 😩😩 Loved your poem!
Your poem really spoke to me. I can feel the honesty in how you reflect on aging, the changes in body and mind, and the solitude that sometimes comes with it. It’s a quiet, powerful reminder of how life moves on, and how important it is to appreciate each moment, even as things shift. Thank you for sharing something so real.
