Once warm, tears bitter cold, have replaced

etching a cruel path down pale flaccid cheeks

With tears now arsenic-laced

with malice intent to erase

memories fade

Once warm, tears bitter cold, have replaced

a life no longer embraced

silent screams echo in the void of the mind

With tears now arsenic-laced

eyes now dull, their clarity encased

in a veil of deceit and confusion

Once warm, tears bitter cold, have replaced

reality cruelly makes haste

leaving only an etched path on the face

Once warm, tears bitter cold, have replaced

With tears now arsenic-laced

sad poetry
