One hole in my heart was just one too many

Was the occurrence of such an event a need?

Forced to keep as a memory, what used to be‐

There I slept, on the streets in front of Heartbreak Hotel

Unfortunately, there were no vacancies

But fortunately, from making a fool of me

I learned from you‐

May I never again be, April's Fool

Read like a book, and played like a CD,

You knew me way too well,

And sold me your story from hell

What I saw as nothing less than pure perfection,

Was nothing more than my worst possible perception,

Of a piece of art, sculpted with the most evil deception

It's beautiful, the poison that drips from your marble lips

A fatal attraction, is the lust that sways with your hips

Sweet is your voice, but bitter is your song

When what stands in the light is my past,

I cannot make right every wrong‐

What I thought would last,

I then believed to be my last,

But in sight of what's passed,

YOU

Were a very important lesson to be learned

Sometimes chances aren't a matter of being earned

And not always are second chances turns to be taken

Some bridges don't just so happen to burn,

They're shaken, they fall, and they're taken‐

I hope you got my letter, of gratitude

It's from you that I have this attitude

To never again be, April's Fool

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
