Another New Year’s Fail

Because You Weren’t Serious

By Earl W. PearlPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

The New Year’s resolution

Is not a true solution

Why set a date

And hesitate

You NEED this “evolution”

Don’t spin another New Years tale

With “plans” you make to no avail

That change you want

Becomes a taunt

THAT’S why your resolutions fail

The reason that you’re waiting

And still procrastinating

You’ve made it clear

You’re not sincere

That’s why you’re hesitating

That habit you have come to hate

You’ll likely only duplicate

This year don’t say

“On New Year’s Day”

If you want change, why plan to wait

You do that thing you’re not to do

But not the thing you ought to do

Don’t make a vow

Just start right NOW

Why WAIT to be that better "You"

Holiday

YES. I don't make New Year's resolutions for this very reason. Well written.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself. I've always felt New Year's resolutions are bullshit. Just do it, why wait. People are weird
