Heartbreak and broken promises a part of every day life,
Connections disintegrating more often than not,
Trust shattered in a blink of an eye,
And a heart battered and bruised from Cupid’s crazy shot.
**
Abandonment felt in the horrid torment,
Forgotten and tossed aside into the fray,
Love and adored one minute in happiness,
And then trashed and downtrodden within a day.
**
Silence screams the loudest when least expected,
No closure without the simple word goodbye,
Just a quiet slinking of cowardly demise,
And yet somehow I’ve become the bad guy.
**
Memories destroyed in a fit of anger,
Because egos are destructive stubbornness born,
An ending just to prove that someone was right,
The good forgotten in the resulting scorn.
**
Relationships are dismissive of the pain and tears,
Respect no longer taught to the young and carefree,
Consequences be damned, this seems the new norm,
Destruction disguised as love to all we now see.
**
The heart turns to stone once this continues to happen,
Bloodied and raw after the constant deathblow,
Reminders of the foolishly naive, heartbreak is pure agony,
And that’s all I know.

Heartbreaking reality. "Silence screams loudest." Isn't that the truth.
Heartbreak does feel like agony. And while it's not all that I know, sometimes it seems like it.
This line nails it, "Memories destroyed in a fit of anger," Well done & loved it!!!💕❤️❤️
